Based on recommendations from the Cultural Committee, the Firestone Board of Trustees launched the Town’s First Annual Firestone Design-a-Flag Contest. The contest is open to all Firestone children aged eight to eleven years old.
Designs for the Firestone Town Flag are to be submitted either in person at Town Hall or by email to email@example.com by May 31st. The flags will initially be reviewed by the Firestone Cultural Committee during its June 6th meeting and recommend the top 3 to be forwarded to the Board of Trustees for consideration. The Board of Trustees will then pick the winner during its June 14th meeting and formally make an announcement during the 4th at Firestone celebration.
“The program is a great opportunity for our children to show their creative talents and to show their love for our community,” said Mayor Paul Sorensen. “This annual tradition will stimulate our children’s interest in government and the community they call home.”
