Firestone Update: Town Facilities to Close
The Town of Firestone is closely monitoring the news about Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19), and understands the concern community members may have. We affirm our commitment to protecting the health and safety of residents and employees, while still providing services to the public. It’s our #1 priority.
While we are committed to providing uninterrupted services to the community, we have to follow the advice and direction from the White House, the State of Colorado, Weld County, and numerous public health agencies. It is strongly recommended that to help slow the spread of COVID-19, protect vulnerable populations, and reduce the strain on our healthcare systems, that Town facilities should close to the public. This closure impacts Town Hall, the Police Department and Public Works. We view this as an absolute last resort, but a necessary step nonetheless. The Town will continue to provide essential services to the community, including public safety, water utilities and emergency response services. Many employees are working remotely and by utilizing technology we are able to continue operating.
