Agreement with Flock Safety Group
During Wednesday night's meeting, the Board of Trustees approved a 5-year Agreement with Flock Safety Group to install Automatic License Plate Reader (ALPR) cameras within Town limits, subject to the annual appropriation of funds by the Board of Trustees.
Flock Safety ALPRs are cameras strategically located within certain the community to automatically capture an image – not video – of the rear of a vehicle and the vehicle's license plate. These images are used for real-time alerts when stolen or wanted vehicles enter the Town of Firestone, as an investigative tool and as a deterrent to criminals.
The camera locations are being finalized, and installation will begin in early 2024.
