High-Speed Broadband Initiative Update

During the February 26, 2020 Board of Trustees meeting, the Board awarded a services agreement with Vantage Point Solutions to conduct the Town of Firestone Broadband Assessment and Feasibility Study.  Throughout this study the intent is to obtain resources and data which could aid the Board of Trustees in making informed decisions concerning high-speed internet delivery options and explore a range of alternatives available for promoting advanced broadband services to Firestone citizens, businesses and Town agencies.

This Broadband Study will kick-off in April and is anticipated to conclude with a final report and presentation to the Board of Trustees in July of this year.

COMING SOON!  An online survey, open to all residents and business owners, will be conducted to obtain information such as:

• Customer satisfaction with current telecommunications/broadband providers

• Current and future needs of community’s desire for enhanced broadband services 

• Citizen’s view on role of municipal government should take in providing that service

• Willingness to pay for that service and at what price for those services

• Overall interest in obtaining services from new provider in market

After the survey is complete, in-person stakeholder outreach and provider engagement meetings will be conducted.
