Letter from the Mayor to
Firestone Businesses
Our business community works hard and the current COVID-19 environment makes it especially challenging. We want you to know that the Town of Firestone Board of Trustees and staff support you.
The U.S. Government has declared the COVID-19 pandemic a disaster, and is responding with a variety of assistance programs along with various agencies within the State of Colorado. You have likely heard about the CARES Act, SBA loans, payroll assistance, tax credits … but what are these, and where should a business start?
Our team is here to help you, our Firestone businesses, navigate the volumes of information on these evolving programs, and better understand which programs may be best for your business.
A brief summary of many programs is provided below. You can find more information on COVID-19 Business Resources on the Town of Firestone website. The webpages include all of the SBA application forms that you can access any time of day or night as there have been reports the SBA website does get locked up at times, as well as a variety of other resources, including non-government agencies offering alternative funding programs. Please visit the COVID-19 Business Resources page regularly as more programs are announced the page will be updated.
We also want to share that we are promoting our Firestone businesses along with the Carbon Valley Chamber of Commerce. Notify Me and Facebook messages have been posted by the Town sharing our Support Our Local Businesses page with a list of our retail and service businesses along with links to the business websites or Facebook pages, addresses, phone numbers, and condition of business during this COVID-19 epidemic. We are calling many of you weekly to check in on how your business is doing and if operations may have changed so we can keep the Support our Local Businesses page updated. If you have updates please let us know.
We have also been able to have our restaurant businesses listed on the 9 News website where the station also included a link to our Support Our Local Business page. Restaurants were also submitted to Alice105.9. All businesses are encouraged to call into Alice 105.9 at 303-222-5423 during the afternoon show Monday-Friday as Slacker and Steve are allowing businesses to share who they are, location, hours open, special services, products or deals. The Carbon Valley Chamber of Commerce is also sharing many of your Facebook posts.
We are also working on hosting virtual chats and trainings for our businesses. Have an idea? Let us know. Please stay in contact with us and take advantage of the programs we and our fellow business support agencies have to offer.
We do have a request of our businesses. We are in need of your help to better understand how Firestone businesses are being impacted, and to help ensure the response and business assistance efforts of our team and of our regional partners are targeted to provide the most benefit. Please help us by taking a few minutes to complete a survey. Let us know how we can help.
