Constitution Week Proclamation

During Wednesday night’s meeting, Mayor Sindelar proclaimed the week of September 17-23 as Constitution Week and urges all citizens to study the Constitution and reflect on the privilege of being an American with all the rights and responsibilities which that privilege involves. The Carbon Valley Chapter of the National Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution requested this proclamation to commemorate the two hundred and thirty-third anniversary of the drafting of the Constitution of the United States.

Final Development Plan for Circle K

In a public hearing, the Board of Trustees approved a Final Development Plan (FDP) for Circle K, located in the Oak Meadows Village commercial area northeast of the intersection of Firestone Boulevard and Colorado Boulevard. The FDP includes a 5,187 square foot retail building, the associated parking and landscaping, and a 6-pump fueling station on a 1.6-acre commercial lot. There will be 23 parking spaces including 2 ADA compliant stalls, along with 2 bicycle parking spaces. It is anticipated that construction will begin later this year.

The FDP process is the final step in the Firestone Development Review process prior to the building permit process.

Final Development Plan for
Oak Meadows Townhomes

During two separate public hearings, the Board of Trustees approved an updated Outline Development Plan (ODP), and approved the Final Plat and Final Development Plan for the Oak Meadows Townhomes Phase 2. The Oak Meadows Townhomes Subdivision is a portion of the larger Oak Meadows PUD that includes the Oak Meadows single-family lots, the Firestone Meadows multi-family residential area and the Oak Meadows Village commercial area all generally located northeast of the Colorado Blvd / Firestone Blvd intersection.

The updated ODP now allows for attached single-family dwelling units with a maximum density of 6.3 du/acre.

Oak Meadows Townhomes Phase 2 is an extension of the Oak Meadows Townhomes Phase 1 development that was approved in 2019. Phase 1 includes 9 townhome buildings for a total of 18 units with each dwelling unit on its own platted lot. Approved during Wednesday night’s meeting, Phase 2 adds 5 additional townhome buildings for a total of 10 additional units also on individual lots. Phase 2 will include one-story and two-story townhome options. Phase 1 is currently under construction, and it is anticipated that Phase 2 will begin soon.

The FDP and Final Plat are the final steps in the Firestone Development Review process prior to the building permit process.
