2020 Supplemental Budget & 2021 Budget Approved
In two separate actions, during Wednesday night’s meeting, the Board of Trustees adopted the 2020 Supplemental Budget and the 2021 Budget and 5-year Capital Improvement Plan.
The supplemental budget modifies the previously adopted budget for 2020. The Local Government Budget Law (CRS 29-1-109), specifically provides that municipalities may amend a budget for a myriad of reasons which includes unanticipated revenues or expenses, revenues not assured at time of adoption of the budget, to address if revenues are lower than anticipated, and to address transfer or supplemental appropriations.
The Board of Trustees reviewed the proposed 2021 budget with Town Staff over four separate meetings in September and October of this year. The budget addresses key initiatives and goals laid out by the Board of Trustees and continues to preserve a high level of service to the residents of Firestone.
