Upcoming Project Discussions at Work Session
The Board of Trustees will meet in a work session next Wednesday, February 17, 2021, to discuss two long-term projects that help the planning for long-term growth and livability of the Town and positively impact the community.
The first hour of the Work Session will be devoted to kicking-off the Transportation Master Plan. In late 2020 the Town hired Bohannan Huston, Inc. to guide this master plan project. The plan will establish a long-range vision for the Town of Firestone’s transportation system over the next 20+ years, discuss transportation challenges and opportunities across the Town of Firestone, and help the Board of Trustees identify transportation priorities and investments.
The second hour of the Work Session will be for the second meeting with Design Workshop to discuss the Central Park Master Plan project. The agenda for this meeting will be a progress report on the team’s initial site analyses, an overview of several comparable projects and programmatic ideas, and will conclude with an interactive exercise to form the groundwork of the framework alternatives to be developed in the following month.
While there is not typically a public comment portion of a Work Session, the public is invited to join in person or virtually to listen. On occasion, the Board will solicit those in attendance for feedback.
