Firestone Board of Trustees Conducts Annual Performance Appraisal of Town Manager
The Firestone Board of Trustees completed its annual appraisal of Town Manager, A.J. Krieger, during an Executive Session on Wednesday, April 28th. The Board recognized Mr. Krieger for several notable accomplishments in his second year as Town Manager and recognized his leadership during the pandemic, a time in which many other municipalities struggled.
Highlighted accomplishments included:
Updating and implementation of the Firestone Development Code
Creation of a Parks Master Plan
Construction of a new Town Hall
Construction of a new Water Treatment Plant
Implementation of services by VIA Transportation
Initiation of an updated Central Park Master Plan
Progress toward the realization of a park in Neighbors Point
Initiation of negations for Municipal Broadband
Award of $1MM Energy Assistance Impact Grant
Award of $90,000 Community Development Block Grant
Award of $20,000 State of Colorado REDI Grant
The Board of Trustees also reviewed the results of Mr. Krieger’s annual 360 evaluation that was administered by a third-party consultant. In an anonymous survey, town staff, board members, and consultants were asked to provide feedback on Mr. Krieger’s strategy, execution, leadership, character, and communication. Mr. Krieger received high marks in all categories, with town staff rating him highest, giving him an overall rating of 4.72 out of 5.00. Mr. Krieger combined rating from all respondents was 4.50 out of 5.00.
At the conclusion of the appraisal, the Board of Trustees and Mr. Krieger discussed priorities for the current year, and the Board thanked him for his service and dedication to the Town of Firestone.
