National Small Business Week
is Next Week
Please join us in recognizing and celebrating the small businesses of Firestone!
In recognition of the importance of small businesses operating in the Town of Firestone, the Board of Trustees proclaimed next week, September 13-17, 2021, as Small Business Week. Thank you to all small businesses for choosing to operate your business in Firestone!
For more than 50 years, the U.S. Small Business Administration has celebrated National Small Business Week (NSBW), recognizing the critical contributions of America’s entrepreneurs and small business owners.
Small businesses are privately owned corporations, partnerships, or sole proprietorships with fewer employees and less revenue than larger businesses. Nevertheless, small businesses create nearly two out of every three new jobs in the U.S. each year, and more than half of Americans either own or work for a small business. Moreover, with 28 million small businesses making up 99.7% of all U.S. firms, small business is significant for both the national and local economies.
We hope you use National Small Business Week to visit your favorite local small business or get to know a new one on our Support Local Business list. Let the business owners know you appreciate that they are a vital part of the Firestone community. We’ll be sharing messages all next week as we take a closer look at how small businesses in Firestone impact our local economy.
