Firestone Police Department
Attends Community Meeting
On Thursday, January 26, members of the Firestone Police Department attended a community meeting hosted by the Barefoot Lakes HOA. In attendance were HOA members, Neighborhood Watch members, and other residents from Barefoot Lakes.
The Police Department was invited to the meeting to discuss residents' concerns with crime and safety in their neighborhood. The community members were presented with information on how to be a better, safer witness and tips on reducing the chance of becoming a victim to these types of crime. Including:
- Installing security lights, motion cameras, or security systems
- ALWAYS lock your vehicles and leave nothing of value behind
- Never leave your keys or extra fobs in the car, especially during the winter to warm it up before you leave
All residents and business owners are encouraged to report all crimes, even if they think they are small. Communication is key. The Department needs to know what is going on in the community to formulate an adequate response. The Firestone Police Department wants to ensure all Firestone residents that they are here for you and that a community partnership is crucial to addressing concerns and keeping Firestone listed as one of the safest communities in Colorado.
If other community groups are interested in hosting an event for members of the Police Department to attend, please contact Deputy Chief Bryce Borders, 303-833-0811 ext 3702.
