Ribbon Cutting Celebrations
Join the Firestone Board of Trustees and staff to celebrate the near completion of two major projects!
Public Works Facility
Tuesday, March 15 at 3:00 p.m.
7500 Pine Cone Avenue, Firestone
The public is invited to join the Board of Trustees and staff to cut the ribbon of the remodeled and expanded Public Works facility. In April of 2020, the Town of Firestone asked voters to approve Ballot Issue 2A, which authorized the Town to expand the purposes of the 0.6% sales and use tax, (approved in 2017), to be used for operation and maintenance of the police and municipal court facility; and construction, operation, and maintenance of other town facilities – all without increasing the current total sales and use tax. THANK YOU to the voters who supported this initiative! Because of this, the Firestone Public Works Facility received a much-needed expansion and remodel that includes connection to sanitary sewer service, a new shop area, wash-bay, ample storage for equipment and supplies, adequate office space, restrooms, and a breakroom. Tours of the new facility will be available.
Neighbors Point Park
Friday, March 18 at 4:00 p.m.
10140 Neighbors Parkway, Firestone
Join the Board of Trustees and staff to officially open the new park with a ribbon cutting. In 2019, the Board of Trustees identified this project as a priority and work began last summer to finish the park. Improvements added to the park including a crusher fine trail, shelters, picnic tables, fencing, pet waste stations, fitness stations, a synthetic turf playfield, and a putting green. Due to supply chain and weather delays, the bathrooms are not yet complete and the swing benches are not installed. It is anticipated that those amenities will be completed soon.
Both events will have a short ceremony and light refreshments.
