Addressing Crime in our Community
During the last weekend in July, five burglaries of businesses in the High Plains Marketplace were reported. Most of these burglaries occurred in the middle of the night, with the suspects smashing business windows and quickly grabbing readily available cash. The Firestone Police Department was called out once businesses knew what happened, and Detectives have been reviewing video surveillance.
Earlier this week, Sgt. Curt Bringle spoke with every business within the High Plains Marketplace. He shared ideas on how to keep their businesses safe and provided options for securing their cash drawers. Sgt. Bringle also shared additional resources with the businesses that reported not having security cameras or alarms.
The Firestone Police Department will continue to have targeted patrols in this area but encourages the community to continue to be an additional set of eyes. If you see suspicious activity in your neighborhood or while out in the community, please call Dispatch at 720-652-4222 for non-emergency calls or dial 9-1-1 if you have an emergency.
Anyone with information regarding these burglaries or any other crimes is asked to contact the Firestone Police Department at 303-833-0811.
