UPDATE:
Town Responds to Resident Concerns in Neighbors Point
Initial indications are that the smell reported this morning was due to a natural gas leak that has been fixed by Black Hills Energy. Out of an abundance of caution, the Weld County Health Department will do further water quality testing to rule out any other problems. Results from that testing will be available early next week.
In addition, the Firestone Public Works Department has received other calls from residents regarding the change in tap water smell. In January, Central Weld County Water District (CWCWD), which provides water to Firestone, notified the Town that in January, customers may notice a change in taste or odor due to the change of water source. CWCWD assures that the water remains safe to drink.
The Town of Firestone will update the community after the testing has been completed.
