Update on Firestone’s
Water Taste & Odor
In January, the Central Weld County Water District notified the Town that customers may notice a change in taste or odor due to a change of water source. The change was necessary to allow the South Plant to be taken offline for annual inspection and maintenance of the St. Vrain Canal by Northern Colorado Water Conservancy District. During this time, CWCWD was to be using a secondary (Dry Creek Reservoir) water supply. That work was to be completed by January 20, 2023.
Since then, the Firestone Public Works Department has received inquiries from residents about the change in taste and odor concerns regarding their water.
The Town of Firestone has contacted CWCWD for further information on the continued use of the secondary source (Dry Creek Reservoir). Once an update is received from the District, additional information will be made available to the public.
