Water Blending Notice
from Central Weld County Water District
Central Weld County Water District (CWCWD) has notified the Town of Firestone that beginning in early June, they, along with Little Thompson Water District (LTWD), will continue the blending of their alternate water source, Dry Creek Reservoir, with their primary water source from Carter Lake Reservoir at the water treatment plant. This will be done at a 10% dilution rate instead of the previous dilution rate, which was 20% over the winter months.
According to CWCWD, this is not annual maintenance but hopefully year-round blending of the two reservoirs.
Due to the blending of two different water sources, customers may notice a change in taste or odor. CWCWD assures that they continue to provide the same daily water quality testing and that the water will remain safe to drink.
