Pedestrian Signal Now Operational!

Pedestrian Signal
Now Operational!

The new pedestrian-activated HAWK signal at the intersection of Oak Meadows Boulevard and Colorado Boulevard is now operational, just in time for school to start soon. The Town encourages drivers and pedestrians to continue to be aware when traveling through this intersection and are encouraged to view the “How-To” guide for the HAWK signal located here.

Tips for Drivers

  • Lights will not be illuminated until it is active by a pedestrian
  • Flashing yellow indicates that drivers should slow down
  • Solid yellow indicates drivers should be prepared to stop
  • Double solid red means stop; a pedestrian is in the crosswalk
  • A flashing red means proceed with caution if the crosswalk is clear

Tips for Pedestrians

  • A solid red hand indicates not to cross the intersection
  • Stop once you get to the intersection and push the button when you are ready to cross
  • Once the white walking man appears, it is safe to cross the street; please proceed with caution and make sure that vehicles are stopped
  • Flashing hand with a countdown indicates you need to finish crossing the street
