Keeping Our Eyes on the Road
Last week, the Firestone Police Department joined forces with the Colorado State Patrol to conduct Port of Entry inspections on commercial motor vehicles in Firestone. These inspections are vital for promoting the safe operation of these vehicles and ensuring the safety of all road users.
Inspections took place at two key locations: Firestone Boulevard and County Road 9 ½. All commercial vehicle drivers passing through were required to stop for checks.
In total, 20 inspections were conducted, resulting in 64 violations. Several vehicles were taken out of service for safety concerns, including:
- 2 for cargo securement
- 2 for brake violations
- 1 for no brake lights
- 2 drivers for not having a valid driver’s license
Thank you to the Colorado State Patrol for collaborating with us to ensure that all drivers adhere to safety standards on our roads. The Firestone Police Department remains dedicated to maintaining the safety of our community and will continue to prioritize these important inspections.
