Central Park Partnership Updates & Next Steps


During the February 18, 2026, Board of Trustees meeting, the Board discussed the Central Park Pre-Development Agreement between USL, Card & Associates, and the Town of Firestone. As part of the Central Park Board liaison team, Trustee Lorna Morton shared that, based on feedback the Board has received, the Town of Firestone should end its agreement with USL, removing them from the Central Park project.

Town staff was directed to move forward with terminating the Pre-Development Agreement with USL. On February 24, 2026, formal notice was delivered to both parties.

What’s Next

Under the original Pre-Development Agreement, the parties were scheduled to provide a status update at the 180-day mark regarding the due diligence completed to date. At the next Board of Trustees Work Session on Wednesday, March 11, 2026, at 6 p.m., Card & Associates will provide that update and share what has been learned through the process.

This meeting will also give the Board an opportunity to discuss possible next steps for the Central Park property. No decisions about future development have been made, and the Board looks forward to hearing additional input from residents before determining how to proceed.

We know the community has many questions and perspectives regarding the future of Central Park. Residents are encouraged to submit questions or comments using the online Q&A form. Questions submitted by Tuesday, March 10, at 5 p.m. will be addressed during the March 11 Work Session. 

The Board of Trustees encourages community participation and looks forward to hearing from residents as discussions about the future of Central Park continue.
