Update from the
Firestone Police Department

On July 6, 2019 the Firestone Police Department released a statement announcing an investigation of a shooting that occurred between the evening of Friday, July 5, 2019 and the morning of Saturday, July 6, 2019, in the 5500 block of Weld County Road 28. The shooting resulted in the death of Christopher Michael Grau (DOB 12/25/1970).  An arrest warrant for murder has been issued for the suspect, who is currently in custody in Jefferson County on unrelated charges.  The suspects name will not be released until formally charged.  Neither victim nor suspect are residents of Firestone.
