Denmore Filing 5 Preliminary Plat Approved

During Wednesday night’s meeting, after a Public Hearing, the Board of Trustees approved a Preliminary Subdivision Plat for Denmore Filing 5, which included 68 residential lots and one tract for future development on approximately 14 acres, located northwest of the intersection of Firestone Boulevard and Frontier Street. The 68 residential lots will include 68 townhome units, and the future tract is zoned Neighborhood Commercial.  

With this preliminary plat approval, the developer can proceed to the final plat process for the property.

Barefoot Lakes Filing 7e Final Plat Approved 

During Wednesday night’s meeting, after a Public Hearing, the Board of Trustees approved theBarefoot Lakes Filing 7E, Final Plat. This area is located east of Barefoot Lakes Parkway and north of Ronald Reagan Blvd and includes 7 shared lots and 9 tracts on approximately 25 acres. This will include 119 single-family detached residential units (motor court) and 80 single-family attached residential units (townhomes). This is a build-to-rent concept where single-family detached units and townhomes are accessed off of motor courts, and the units are on shared lots owned by the developer.

Parks and open spaces are generally located throughout the area. A trail network will provide access from all areas of the site to the park areas and access to the pedestrian underpass to cross under Ronald Reagan Blvd. into Barefoot Lakes Filing 6 and ultimately to the trail system around the lakes. 

With this approval, the developer can proceed to the building permit process.

Pedestrian Bridge Agreement

During Wednesday night’s meeting, the Board of Trustees approved a reimbursement agreement between the Town of Firestone and Barefoot LLC (the developer of Barefoot Lakes) to fund the design and eventual construction of a pedestrian bridge over St. Vrain Creek, just south of the Barefoot Lakes development.

For many years, Firestone residents, especially those in Barefoot Lakes, have asked about a safe way to cross St. Vrain Creek to access the commercial areas near Firestone Boulevard and to safely reach the trail network at St. Vrain State Park.

In 2024, the Town completed a bridge feasibility study that resulted in a conceptual design for the proposed bridge. Barefoot Lakes LLC will provide up to $500,000 for full design and up to $3 million for construction of this bridge.

Full bridge design and construction are expected to start in 2026. The Town of Firestone appreciates Barefoot Lakes LLC for its ongoing partnership. This significant infrastructure investment would not be feasible without the continued collaboration with the Town of Firestone. This highly anticipated amenity will only further enhance the connectivity of the Barefoot Lake community and expand the trail network for all Firestone residents.
