2019 Mosquito Control



The Town of Firestone’s Public Works Department will provide the Town’s mosquito surveillance and control activities for the 2019 season. Mosquito traps are set in strategic locations throughout Town to determine mosquito type and population.  Based on this information, Town staff will spray adulticides and larvicides as needed.

 
Mosquito Control Schedule

The Town generally sprays between 8:30 - 10:00 p.m. on Mondays and Thursdays (weather permitting) at the height of mosquito activity, in order to eliminate a larger population of mosquitos. In 2019, weekly Mosquito spraying will begin on Thursday, June 13.


Which Chemicals are Used for Spraying?

  • Mosquito Adulticides: Anvil 2 + 2 ULV, Biomist 3 + 15 ULV

  • Mosquito Larvicides: VectoBac CG, Altosid XR, VectoLex CG
