Outdoor Business Activities Temporarily Approved
The Board of Trustees approved a resolution that allows for temporary modifications to certain land use and licensing requirements for local businesses. The temporary administrative order is intended to facilitate the operation of outdoor business activities to increase social distancing while still allowing businesses to be productive and economically sustainable.
On May 25, 2020, the Executive Order issued by Governor Polis encouraged restaurants to have outdoor dine-in service and indoor service subject to restrictions such as social distancing, facial covering, employee protection measures, and occupancy limits.
Information for businesses that are interested in learning more about these modifications can be found here.
Summer Event Update
During Wednesday night’s meeting, the Board of Trustees were given an update on summer events in Firestone, including rescheduling Clean Up Day. Town staff have adapted to the current situation and are modifying events to provide safe options for the community while also ensuring that these events are following all regulations from the State of Colorado and Weld County.
- The 19th Annual Residential Clean Up Day has been rescheduled for Saturday, June 27th from 7:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. Firestone residents are invited to bring unwanted household debris to Firestone’s Public Works facility at 7500 Pine Cone Ave (WCR 20). Commercial waste will NOT be accepted; this event is for residents only. View more information here.
- The movies in the parks are moving to Drive-In style movies. Join us at the Firestone Sports Complex for dinner and a movie. Food trucks will be on-site, offering dinner and dessert options, with a movie on the big screen. All you’ll need to do is tune-in on your radio! The first movie will be Hook on June 12th. The parking lot will open at 6:30 p.m., and the movie will begin at 8:30 p.m. View more information here.
- The 18th Annual 4th at Firestone will have an even bigger and better fireworks show than we have ever had. Fireworks are moving back to Saddleback Golf Course and will be shot-off just north of the 15th hole. Parking will be available for an excellent view of the show at the property that surrounds Town Hall. Food Trucks will be available in the Town Hall parking lot. Of course, we will miss the parade and other festivities this year, but are already looking forward to 2021! View more information here.
