[ARCHIVED] Town of Firestone Issues Local Emergency Declaration

Spotlight_TOF_Update

On Wednesday, March 18, 2020, Town Manager A.J. Krieger signed a declaration of local disaster for the Town of Firestone in response to the global COVID-19 pandemic. The Town Manager has authority to issue a disaster emergency declaration for a period of up to 7 days. To be effective for more than 7 days, the declaration must be confirmed and extended by the Board of Trustees. The Board of Trustees will review the status of the declaration at their March 25, 2020 meeting.

The main purpose of the declaration is to activate the response and recovery aspects of any and all applicable local, inter-jurisdictional, state and federal disaster emergency plans, and to seek and authorize the furnishing of aid, assistance, and financial reimbursement under such plans.

The Town encourages residents, businesses and visitors to remain informed about COVID-19 and to follow updates and guidelines from Carbon Valley Emergency Management Agency, Weld County Department of Health and Environment, Colorado Department of Public Health & Environment and Center for Disease Control and Prevention.
