The Town of Firestone is continually working on improving the usability and accessibility of our website to fully implement all standards identified in HB21-1110 and HB24-1454.  The Town of Firestone will soon publish a Digital Accessibility Plan to update any new technologies related to digital accessibility, update roles and responsibilities, and show steps made in progress in removing barriers for all users. This plan will be updated on a yearly basis.

The following items are ongoing tasks that support the Town of Firestone’s Digital Accessibility Plan:

  • Understand the goals and objectives of Colorado HB 21-1110, and continually monitor the State of Colorado’s OIT resources for guidance and support.
  • Provide continuous training on digital accessibility compliance for those responsible for creating and publishing online content and materials. This includes but is not limited to text, links, images, forms, PDFs, documents, and embedded third-party applications.
  • Stay abreast of new and emerging technologies, how they can be used to support accessibility efforts, and research grant funding to help implement these tools.
  • Build accessibility into roles, processes, and procedures throughout all departments.
  • Commit to continuous improvement with regular testing and monitoring.
