The Planning & Development Department consists of two main divisions: Building and Planning. The Department provides services related to the implementation of planning and land-use policies and regulations.
The Planning & Development Department works with the Planning and Zoning Commission, Board of Trustees and residents to prepare plans, and regulations for land use and design, that guide the Town of Firestone’s growth, enhancement and preservation. This work helps to ensure life-safety and quality-of-life standards, now and in the future.
The Building Division provides services to individuals planning improvements to their properties by reviewing construction plans, issuing permits, performing inspections, and enforcing ordinances that ensure safe buildings and a healthy environment. The division also manages the licensing of contractors and trades.
The Planning Division is responsible for reviewing land use applications for development activity such as annexation, zoning, plats and site plans and also is responsible for the administration of the Town of Firestone Comprehensive Master Plan and Firestone Development Code.
