Historic Firestone Waterline & Roadway Replacement Project

Starting in 2022, the Town of Firestone began a phased approach to replacing the waterlines and reconstructing the roadways in Historic Firestone. The entire design was completed in 2022/2023, and each phase will be advertised for construction annually. There are 11 Phases. Alternates will be added to each yearly advertisement in an attempt to maximize yearly budgets and potentially reduce the number of phases for the overall project.

To date, the Town has completed the waterline and roadway replacements at:

  • Jackson Drive
  • Wooster Drive
  • Wooster Drive Alley
  • 4th Street (Buchanan Ave to McClure Ave)
  • Buchanan Ave (3rd St to 4th St)
  • Granville Ave (3rd St to 4th St)
  • 3rd Street (Granville Ave to Buchanan Ave)
  • 2nd Street (Grant Ave to Wooster Ave)
  • 3rd Street (Grant Ave to Wooster Ave)
  • Florence Court
  • 1st Street (Venice Ave to McClure Ave)

Waterline and road work will start on Berwick Street from 1st Street to Granville Circle and move to 3rd Street between Berwick and Granville Avenue. The schedule is subject to change, and any major changes will be shared with the community. Weather permitting, regular work hours will be from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Monday through Friday, and the project should be completed by Summer 2025.

Residents who will be affected by the work will receive door hanger notices from the contractor with specific times for the work on their street.

Motorists are urged to pay close attention while driving through the work area and be prepared for slight delays. While on Berwick Ave, be aware that there will be multiple lane shifts during construction. Please abide by all posted traffic control signs, reduce speeds in the work zone, and avoid the work area if possible.
