Firestone Citizens’ Police Academy – Fall 2025
The Firestone Police Department is proud to offer the Citizens’ Police Academy this fall—a dynamic, 10-week program designed to give community members a behind-the-scenes look at law enforcement. This engaging experience helps build a deeper understanding of police work and fosters stronger partnerships between officers and the community.
Participants will explore a wide range of law enforcement topics, including criminal law, community policing, building searches, vehicle stops, officer safety and survival, police technology, and use of force, among others. These subjects are presented through a combination of classroom instruction, demonstrations, and hands-on activities to create a well-rounded and engaging learning experience.
Class Schedule:
Sessions will take place on Tuesday evenings from 6:00 – 8:30 p.m., beginning September 9 and concluding with a graduation ceremony on November 11.
Who Can Attend?
Applicants must live or work within the town limits of Firestone and be 18 years of age or older to qualify. Each applicant will undergo a criminal background check due to the sensitive nature of the access given to attendees. The class will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis, with limited space. Priority will be given to applicants who have not participated in a Firestone Citizen Police Academy session. Registration is now closed.
